WHO WE ARE

Sassari Soccorso was born on October 16, 1992 from an idea of some boys. This idea wanted to combine a humanitarian and altruistic spirit with great professionalism, experience and competence. Furthermore, since 1992, volunteers have been offering their relief work for the needy free of charge and with great sacrifices, without asking for anything more than a simple thank you!
The path of the association begins in a small room in via Rosello with few resources but a great desire to devote oneself to others. Since then this spirit has never changed and has always accompanied Sassari Soccorso who, with tenacity and self-sacrifice, has always carried out his tasks, always managing to overcome the obstacles that have arisen in his path.
Over time, Sassari Soccorso has lived, as in a history book, various eras marked step by step by the offices where the association has lived. In fact we recall that after Via Rosello we experienced a splendid period in Via Diaz and immediately after in Via Milano, where Sassari Soccorso experienced its most brilliant period reaching a staff of 150 units and 5 vehicles operating 24 hours a day. This period has showed people that Sassari Soccorso is not just made up of obstacles and difficulties, our association created and continues to create a meeting point for people, managing to give birth to friendships and good times together.
Unfortunately, the good times are followed by moments of ups and downs as in a street, as in the years from 2005 to 2006 where the service was mainly carried out on the street as we did not have a place to stop. But the strength not to give up and the memory of our history made it possible to overcome even this umpteenth difficulty, bringing us in 2007 to via Bottego n. 37. It is here that, thanks to the work of the volunteers, roots have taken root which have allowed the rebirth of the association in an even more beautiful period than the previous ones.
In 2018 it was decided to join the national movement ANPAS. espousing its policies and principles.
In 2019, there was a return to the Regional Civil Protection, starting activities both in the field of special operations and in fire prevention.
The experiences gained in this situation have allowed us to make the professionalism acquired in the field of hydraulic and hydrogeological prevention available to the Municipality of Sassari by activating important agreements.
In 2020, the accreditation procedures for the Civil Service will start, which will materialize in 2022. The boys of the civil service have been trained for the purpose of employment in medical aid.
